Kate Upton’s Fake Tan: Hot or Not?

2014 she was the most googled model worldwide – well before Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr & Co. We are talking about Kate Upton. Now 23 years old she is already able to present a remarkable career. In addition to a lot of model jobs she meanwhile also managed to grab movie roles, among others in the comedy The Other Woman, in which she is plotting revenge to an unfaithful husband together with Cameron Diaz and Leslie Mann…

The American beauty was raised in Florida, and although this part of the U.S. is called “sun state” because of its clear weather, Kate told us of her former solarium addiction. “I grew up in Florida and indeed I was a bit addicted to the solarium,” said Kate about her times as a teenager in the sun state, “but today I am much more clever.” The star of The Other Woman has already perceived that she is putting health and skin quality at risk by frying under the artificial sun coming from the wall socket.

In a certain dose both UVA and UVB radiation cause damage in the human genetic material and can induce diseases such as skin cancer, but also accelerated skin aging, the so-called “photo aging”. According to the latest scientific findings at least one percent of all malignant skin cancer diseases should be attributable to the negative effect of sunlight. This fact applies to a larger extent to artificial UV light than for the natural sun.

Sunbathing should be enjoyed in moderation – but which possibilities are on offer to tan in a gentle and at the same time natural way? Especially people with light skin, such as Kate Upton, frequently ask this question. These people often do not have this effect of getting tanned – but if, they do not without having a tissue-damaging and often painful sun burn additionally.

In this case a treatment with melanotropin can make sense. This hormone is responsible for the production of the dark skin pigment melanin. During this therapy it can be administered to the body. As a consequence a quicker and regular tanning of the skin is achieved, completely without skin-damaging side effects of excessive sun baths or visits of the sunbeds. Currently such therapies are difficult to access for average people who do not suffer from a certain skin disease. So the excitement remains whether this substance is going to find wide application in future times or not.

And what to do against damage from the use of tanning salons, such as wrinkles as well as dry, blotchy skin? With the help of autologous stem cells extracted from autologous fat the skin quality can be improved. Stem cells needed for skin regeneration are isolated from a small portion of fat, which is obtained gently by the means of liposuction with microcannulas.

In any case it is recommendable to supply the skin with its basic elements collagen or hyaluronic acid via nutrition, which are both very often reduced in damaged skin. Perfect Skin by DDr. Heinrich® Beauty Drink or Powder to mix yourself are able to regenerate the skin from the inside out.

With the age of 23 Kate is still young, but by visiting solariums frequently even her young and tender skin can already be affected. But if she is going to refrain from her former sins against her skin in future times and therefore reaches for regenerative treatments she will hopefully be able to delight in her beautiful skin for a long time to come, even if she is taking a relaxing sun bath under the true sun occasionally. Because this is – as we know – in metes and bounds even healthy for our body and soul.

10 Kilos Weight Gain in One Year: Is It the Hormones’ Fault?

A patient who suffers from a sudden strong gain in weight asks us:

I have gained almost 10 kilos within a year. About a year ago I also started the intake of the pill again. Measurements revealed that my body fat increased, but muscle mass did not. Can bioidentical hormones help? How can I proceed?

Bioidentical hormones can help in weight loss. First of all it would make sense to perform an analysis of the hormone levels. This information enables a focused “balancing” of a hormonal imbalance.

Certain birth control pills are known to cause weight gain because they interfere with the hormonal balance in uncontrolled way and systematically. Further factors which have a lasting effect on the hormonal production are nutrition, sport, and stress. They can also lead to a gain of weight.

At the begin of a therapy with bioidentical hormones (Bioidentical Hormonal Regeneration Therapy, BHRT) both health and hormonal status are determined through comprehensive anamnesis and blood analysis. On this basis an individual therapy program can be created. A hormonal regeneration lasts for either 3 or 6 cycles (1 cycle = 28 days) and can be repeated when required.

In case persistent problematic areas, for example around the hips, butt, and thighs exist, it is useful to do a liposuction with thin microcannulas even before a planned weight loss. Fat tissue namely produces hormones, which promote further deposition of fat in the body.

Breast Augmentation with the Body’s Own Fat and Stem Cells

The female breast – a burdensome topic sometimes.

There are often women coming in our clinic who have always wished for more bust size or who where originally happy with their figure, but, for example, have lost breast volume completely through breastfeeding and are now suffering a lot from the consequence. Patients are also frequently consulting us because of dissatisfaction with their breast implants, an upcoming “implant change”, or because they have complaints. Some patients perceive the foreign body sensation as unpleasant or they suffer from complications such as capsular fibrosis.

Those women wish for a natural alternative to silicone and artificial fillers.

Breast augmentation with autologous fat and stem cells allows for gentle breast forming. The augmented breast feels completely natural and looks absolutely “real” in any posture, whether lying or standing.

Stem Cell-enriched Body Fat – The Natural Alternative to Silicone

Patient before and after stem cell breast augmentation

The after photo shows the result actually achieved by the treatment. To protect the anonymity of the depicted person individual physical characteristics (e.g., moles, tattoos) might have been removed.

In breast augmentation with stem cells first autologous fat is harvested with thin microcannulas. Problem zones at hips, thighs, and belly are removed; the fat which was undesired “down below” is gently injected into the breast. In addition, it is useful to enrich the body fat with autologous stem cells before injecting it, because by doing so notably longer lasting results can be achieved than with injection of untreated body fat. The whole procedure is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.

A breast reconstruction with stem cell-enriched autologous fat is also possible after removing breast implants. As soon as the healing process after implant removal is finished, the breast can be augmented gently with stem cell-enriched body fat. There is enough space for autologous fat because the breast is often pre-stretched due to the implants.

During one surgery appointment an enlargement from about a half up to two cup sizes can be achieved. In case of breast reconstructions (such as after breast cancer) there are multiple procedures necessary.

My team and I are gladly at your disposal for a comprehensive and individual consultation. If you are interested kindly contact us and arrange a consultation appointment.

Breast Augmentation with Stem Cell-enriched Autologous Fat – Long-term Results

Breast augmentation with stem cell-enriched autologous fat is a natural alternative to breast augmentation with silicone or other foreign bodies. Women who categorically reject artificial filling materials by conviction often decide for breast augmentation with their own fat.

The downer of conventional breast augmentations with the body’s own fat was since now that a large part of the volume achieved was later on degraded again. The breast augmentation with stem cell-enriched autologous fat is an improved method of autologous fat transfer and brings about sustainable breast augmentation in most women.

Fat extraction and breast augmentation are performed in the course of the same surgery on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia. The aftercare effort is manageable, the patients are mobile after the procedure and normally able to work already 1 to 2 days after the surgery.

Typical side effects which are to be expected temporarily after a breast augmentation with stem cell-enriched autologous fat are swellings, bruises, and redness.

Due to surgery the breasts are swollen for a few weeks and feeling hard (see picture in the middle). As soon as the postoperative swelling has subsided the breast looks natural in ever body posture, whether in motion or at rest. Because the additional volume is consisting solely of the body’s own “material”, the enlarged breast also feels absolutely “real”. Injection sites of injection cannulas usually heal without any scarring visible to the naked eye.

The after photo shows the result actually achieved by the treatment. To protect the anonymity of the depicted person individual physical characteristics (e.g., moles, tattoos) might have been removed.

What is important is that the patient avoids lifting heavy things or squeezing the breast (such as through tight clothes) until the end of healing process. After what time you are allowed to do sports depends on the kind of sport and the individual healing process. Jogging is possible relatively quickly because it does not strain the breast, compared to sports like climbing and tennis, which have to be paused with for several weeks.

Augmentations of about one cup size (see lower picture) are typical. In most women the result are long-lasting, so they can enjoy a naturally augmented breast in the years after the surgery.

Liposuction or Facelift in the Face?

A patient with undesired facial fat pads writes us:

I am interested in a liposuction in the face, especially on my cheeks and chin. I am 55 years old and my skin still looks relatively elastic. I don’t want to make a facelift.

A facelift would in have a completely different indication than a liposuction in the face. It would rather be preferred at strongly slackened tissue, in which excess skin has to be removed with a scalpel. On the contrary liposculpture in the face is suitable for reduction of undesired thick cheeks or a pronounced double chin. In case of tiny, locally restricted fat pads a treatment with a fat-away injection (injection lipolysis) could as well be appropriate as an alternative.

A liposuction in the face is performed with dedicated, especially fine facial microcannulas which allow for a gentle and precise modeling of facial contours. Therefore superfluous fat pads can be removed or rather shaped. The treatment takes place on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia and lasts about one to two hours.

Because this is a tiny procedure which is performed in an especially tissue-conserving way you are presentable again already on the next day. You just have to wear a bandage overnight. Tiny bruises which can sometimes appear can be covered with makeup.

In case of sagging tissue in the face a treatment with bioidentical hormones or stem cells extracted from the body’s own fat, as well as a “vampire facelift” with PRP can be useful to regenerate skin and help provide it with more vitality and freshness. Alternatively or in addition your skin can be strengthened through the intake of nutrition supplements containing collagen and hyaluronic acid such as Perfect Skin by DDr. Heinrich® Beauty Drink or Powder.

Liposuction: Gentle Body Forming with Microcannulas

Goodbye fat pads!

If you suffer from fat pads which defy diets and sport, liposuction can help. Liposuction removes stubborn fat deposits of the body. The treatment is performed on an outpatient basis under local anesthesia.

Attention: Liposuction is not all the same.
There are various methods which differ significantly.

Liposculpture with Microcannulas

Patientin vor und nach der Fettabsaugung mit Mikrokanülen

The after photo shows the result actually achieved by the treatment. To protect the anonymity of the depicted person individual physical characteristics (e.g., moles, tattoos) might have been removed.

The method we use is particularly tissue-conserving and is called Liposculpture. Liposculpture is solely performed in gentle handwork – without the use of suction machines (such as ultrasound, waterjet). We completely waive scalpels, so no scars develop which could be seen with the naked eye after your positive healing process. If liposculpture is performed with so-called “true microcannulas” you need to wear compression clothes just for 7 days instead of 4 to 8 weeks.

Advantages of liposculpture at a glance:

  • Smooth handwork instead of invasive suction machines
  • Waiving of scalpels = normally no scars visible to the naked eye
  • Maximum possible safety because of local anesthesia – waiving of general anesthesia
  • Compression clothes just for 1 week instead of 4 to 8 weeks
  • Reduced off times – typically able to work already 1 to 2 days after the treatment

What Can Be Done with the Harvested Body Fat?

Your body fat is just too precious to dispose it.

Regenerative stem cell therapies

There are valuable stem cells in your “love handles”, which, according to newest scientific findings, possess the potential to regenerate weakened tissue and organs and therefore can be used in numerous diseases which develop in consequence of organ and tissue weakness.

Current scientific findings, for example, suggest a possible therapeutic benefit of autologous stem cells in the therapy of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, joint disorders, neurological and endocrinological diseases, and many other degenerative processes.

Correction of dents and volume deficits

Body fat is suitable for natural and smooth correction of dents and volume deficits. Injected into the breast a breast augmentation of in average one cup size can be achieved.

Kim Basinger: Too many Beauty Surgeries?

Kim is known from films like 9½ Weeks, L.A. Confidential or Final Analysis – after her career as model the US actress made her final breakthrough 1983 side by side with Sean Connery in the movie Never Say Never Again. The film was a remake of Thunderball, almost of the same plot. The Bond Girl, then 30 years old, helped James Bond to save the world from the villain Largo who extorted the United Nations with two atomic bombs. Anyway, Kim is regarded as blonde sex bomb since then. Kim’s deep kiss with the villain Largo (played by Klaus Maria Brandauer) is an unforgettable moment. Three years later 9½ Weeks became the most popular erotic cult film of the 80ies. Whoever has missed it should watch the most important scenes on YouTube, it is worth it.

Some time has passed since the 1980ies. Kim is now 61 years old, still wearing her blonde mane and impressing by her slim figure. But many fans wonder: What happened to her face? At the premiere of her new movie At Any Price in L.A. Kim appeared with frozen facial features, high cheekbones, and eyes wide open. There is no doubt – the ex-Bond Girl helped make this happening with botox and implants – for the sake of alleged beauty. Only a few years ago Kim was opposed to beauty surgeries. By now she obviously changed her mind.

But what brought about such a change of mind? Well, the pressure to optimize many actresses are exposed to more than other people was probably decisive here.

Whatever – as a reader of my blog you know that I am critical regarding botox and implants. Botulinum toxin, better known as botox paralyzes nerve cells and prevents contraction of facial muscles concerned – the natural countenance bows out and a doll-like, vacant expression arises. Even worse: Skin becomes thin and dry and is looking old.

So what can we do to get rid of undesired wrinkles whilst maintaining a natural appearance?

One of the possibilities would be a therapy with bioidentical hormones (Bioidentical Hormonal Regeneration Therapy, BHRT) which works against an age-related hormone decrease. Apparent wrinkle reduction, higher performance, better libido, and an improvement of the general state of health are the results.

The age-related reduced skin components collagen and hyaluronic acid should be supplied increasingly via nutrition. One possibility is our product Perfect Skin, which is available as powder or beauty drink.

A treatment with the body’s own stem cells can regenerate skin and tissue. By the means of gentle liposuction with microcannulas a small amount of the patient’s fat is obtained, from which stem cells are extracted and afterwards injected into areas concerned.

Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) obtained from autologous blood, as well as growth factors of skin cells are also suitable for skin treatments.

These gentle methods have something in common: They make aesthetic facial surgeries superfluous when being performed in time. If skin and tissue is slackening for too long time a surgical lift is necessary. For Kim it would have been better to not steadfastly refuse aesthetic treatments. If she had turned to gentle, natural methods of skin regeneration early enough she could have spared the post-operative look together with the discussions of her fans. Although for a star there is nothing worse as never being part of a discussion. So Kim will be able to live with such a rumor mill.

The Age of Adaline – Forever Young?

In the legendary “Golden Ages” people did not mature, but spent their very long lives as vital adults, hardly scarred by life, such as through graying hair, from which there was even then not yet an escape. At this legendary time Kronos, Zeus’ father, was yet ruling over gods and mortals, this is what the Greek poet Hesiod tells. People later lost these paradisiacal state and dreamt of eternal youth ever since.

Staying young forever can also be a nightmare, at least according to the film The Age of Adeline. The widowed mother of a daughter, acted by Blake Lively, lives a normal life – until one significant day in winter on which an accident affects her DNA stability. As a consequence Adeline’s body cells are not able to age anymore. Could it be a curse, whereof humanity is dreaming since the gone Golden Age? Well, the ever-being 29-year-old is suffering from her fate and rather regards it as curse than blessing. She doesn’t want anybody to find out her secret, only her daughter Flemming knows about her destiny.

To keep her secret save the young woman changed both her residence and appearance at regular intervals. Nevertheless, simple daily happenings, such as a visit to the doctor, turn out to be real challenges. For reasons of self-preservation she tries to dodge serious relationships. Initially it works, but only until she meets the charismatic Ellis Jones (Michiel Huisman) with whom she falls in love. As soon as he introduces her to his father (Harrison Ford) her secret is threatening to be exposed – because the latter already knows her from former times…

Since July 10th, 2015 you can see in Austrian cinemas how the love drama ends and I don’t want to spoil suspense.

For those of us who consider juvenile and vital appearance as worthwhile, and not as curse, some information here how to stop the march of time or even how to turn it back:

As a reader of my blog you know that the “Golden Age” was those episode of the Paleolithic period in which sovereign weapon developments, such as flint-stone projectile points and spear catapults, made possible a safe and opulent access to big quarry, especially elephants and mammoths, for our ancestors. These animals were eaten up together with their brains and all their organs. This did not only supply humans with lots of proteins and amino acids, but also with a huge amount of bioidentical hormones, which held them young and vital even in advanced old age.

Mammoths are extinguished for a long time now and today we are not that keen on eating brains or other inner organs. Thus you should directly supply your body with bioidentical hormones: Therapy with bioidentical hormones (Bioidenical Hormonal Replacement Therapy, BHRT). Sufficient and balanced hormone levels are decisive for a healthy and vital-looking body. They do not only stand for a better regeneration of skin, but also help us to stay slim.

In Hormonal Regeneration we exclusively use bioidentical hormones, which correspond to the body’s own hormones in regard of structure, so that side effects can largely be excluded when used correctly.

In a short while I am going to report about rejuvenating treatments, especially for the skin.

What was happening to Adeline in the film is fiction, of course. Nevertheless, there are living cells which do not age and potentially live forever – human sperm cells, for example, but also multicellular organisms such as freshwater polyps are potentially immortal. Ultimately it is enough for us to stay healthy, vital and good-looking, also with increasing age. I will gladly keep you informed, if modern medicine develops new approaches for the realization of the dream of eternal youth.

Jurassic World: Even Dinosaur Skin Contained Collagen and Hyaluronic Acid

In the new episode of Jurassic Park the dinosaur theme park on Isla Nuba is in operation already for a long time, but it has financial problems. The scientists want to produce more “thrill” by developing a genetically modified pimped predatory dinosaur to attract more paying visitors.

But what has actually made dinosaurs so successful that they could dominate the earth for 200 million of years? And why did mammals have to wait 200 millions of years for their turn? Mammals were already present before dinosaurs had inhabited the earth, namely in that time of the so-called perm period. They evolved – like the dinosaurs did as well – from reptiles and were biologically seen quite similar to the today’s platypus – so they had fur, warm-blooded body temperature and probably they even laid eggs. Suddenly all of the mammals apart from a few small forms died out and made way for the dinosaurs.

What happened? The atmosphere got contaminated due to eruptions of huge volcanos, the level of oxygen dropped to such an extent that mammals were simply hardly able to breathe.

Now the dinosaurs appeared on the scene: They were warm-blooded like mammals, instead of fur they had scales (later feathers) and in addition they had an epochal innovation in their body plan: The dinosaurs had air sacs in their bones, so that they could inhale considerably more oxygen from the air than mammals could. With this polluted atmosphere they were clearly more vital than mammals, whose ecological niches were quickly occupied in the following triad. Because they had considerable lighter, air-containing bones in contrast to mammals they could very quickly take on enormous biodiversity right up to huge forms. At that time mammals were restricted to the existence as tiny, shrew-like, nocturnal robbers.

What actually meant the end of the dinosaurs is not yet 100 % clear. Anyway, we know that the impact of a comet 65 millions years ago had caused a global inferno, to which all of the land animals bigger than a cat felt victim to in the time following. And what happened with the small dinosaurs? Some of them are still alive…

What has been suspected for a long time has now been evidenced: Collagen in Tyrannosaurus Rex’ fossilized bones (short form: T. Rex) was analyzed and it was proven that both T. Rex and the chicken belong to the same group of dinosaurs. Thus birds are as well as their popular ancestors feathered, two-legged predatory dinosaurs.

But what do dinosaurs and our domestic chicken have to do with regenerative medicine?

Collagen in bones of extinct animals does not only sound interesting for paleontologists but has also been playing a big role in traditional Chinese medicine for millenniums. Thus collagen is the basic building block of many body tissues such as skin, subcutaneous tissue, cartilage, and bones. Therefore it is important to supply our body with collagen via nutrition.

To foster beauty from the inside out we have developed the product series Perfect Skin by DDr. Heinrich®. Perfect Skin by DDr. Heinrich® consists of the substances your skin needs for regeneration and a fresh appearance, namely a special blend of collagen and natural hyaluronic acid. Perfect Skin by DDr. Heinrich® is available as ready-to-drink beauty shot for daily delight with high-quality pure organic juices, or for those who want to create their favorite taste themselves, as powder. Perfect Skin by DDr. Heinrich® is free from artificial sweeteners, flavorings, and preservatives. Of course without any added sugar as well.

If you are – apart from the collagen extent in the dinosaur skin – also interested in the story of Jurassic World, just one little hint: As a matter of course the genetically modified dinosaur, bigger and more dangerous than its ancestors, escapes in complete unmanageable nature and runs amok together with his dinosaur colleagues among the visitors of the theme park.

We won’t tell you if the dinosaurs could finally be held back, who knows, maybe you will find out yourself during indulging your skin with a shot Perfect Skin Beauty Drink.

Emma Roberts: What to Do in Very Light Skin?

For Emma Roberts, niece of Hollywood star Julia Roberts, acting is virtually something she was born with. Already at the age of 10 she made her debut as child star in the drug film Blow next to Johnny Depp and Penélope Cruz. She was also getting hold of star roles in her childhood, such as in the US teen series Unfabulous, composed of 41 seasons, through which she became quite well known. Years later she gained publicity in the entertaining love comedy We’re the Millers.

The today only 24-year-old actress may justifiably be proud of her career and look confidently into the future. Even though her private life does not pass by impeccable presently – just recently she separated from her American Horror Story film colleague Evan Peters 6 month after they got engaged.

However, she lately disclosed in an interview to suffer from an unusual complex: It is her light skin because of which she got teased in her younger years. At that time she tried to counteract her light skin with the help of plentiful of self-tanning lotion. Today Emma laughs about her orange skin after tanning herself with self-bronzer.

Many of the people with light skin do not laugh, but suffer. Can we really do something, if the “noble paleness” is undesired and skin does not tan easily “by itself”?

If you prefer a natural tan there is no way around sunbathing, although it is known that UVA and UVB radiation from the sunlight induces damage of human genetic material and therefore encourages skin cancer and skin aging. Meanwhile even infrared radiation is suspected of playing a role in the so-called “photo aging”. Protection against these risks is warranted by an already tanned skin and of course protection from sunlight.

But not everyone produces the dark pigment melanin to the same extent and therefore tans equally quickly. Especially light skin types have a rough ride – already after a short time in the sun they get a painful, and above all, dangerous sunburn, which mostly occurs before getting the desired tan.

This is where a treatment with melanotropin can help to make skin resistant more quickly. The hormone stimulates the body’s own production of the dark pigment melanin, whereby skin is getting apparently darker and an autologous protection against dangerous UV light is developed. Thus sunburns can be prevented to a certain degree and “photo aging” can as well be decelerated.

If tiny wrinkles and light-induced skin damage due to excessive sunbathing or solarium are already existing, hyaluronic acid and collagen in the form of Perfect Skin by DDr. Heinrich® Beauty Drink or Powder can provide a remedy. They nourish your skin and help it to regenerate.

One medical treatment possibility would be a therapy with the body’s own stem cells, which are extracted from autologous fat tissue and directly injected into skin areas concerned. Right there their regenerative effect can happen and provide your skin more freshness and vitality.

Emma’s disgrace due to her self-tanning experiment could have been spared with the help of medical support. With a treatment with melanotropin she would not have had to forego attractive, tenderly tanned skin and would have done something good to her skin in addition. This treatment is officially in the testing phase at the moment and therefore is not that easy accessible for the average consumer, but who knows, as Hollywood stars indeed do have good relationships, maybe Emma already uses them to get tanned.
