Liposuction Touch Up Before Fat Transfer for Breast Augmentation?

A patient who is interested in stem cell breast augmentation asks by e-mail:

I wanted to have the CAL procedure done. I understand the procedure you do that retains the most volume is called the CAL stem cell-assisted lipotransfer. But before the CAL breast augmentation I will have a touch up liposuction with the surgeon who performed the liposuction on my legs.

As she requests fat transfer we would not recommend her to undergo a liposuction touch up prior to breast augmentation with her body’s own fat. Every gram of fat is valuable for the breast augmentation! If necessary at all, she might have the touch up liposuction for correction of dents after the fat transfer.

Fat Transfer to the Breasts: Predictability, Durability, Risks

A patient who is interested in stem cell breast augmentation asks:

My doctor said the results of fat transfer are not predictable and that it does not retain. How many years have you been doing this procedure, how many have you done? What are the risk factors with it?

In most cases the results of lipotransfer are predictable and indeed permanent. Our long-term satisfaction rate is very high. We have been doing this procedure since 1996 (we were the first clinic who did the cell-assisted lipotransfer in Europe in 2006) and have done many hundreds of both procedures. The risks are like in all other fat transfers/lipofillings, no additional risks.

Aging Neck, Aging Skin: What Can Help?

A patient mails about skin regeneration:

I am 66 years of age and showing signs of crinkly neck skin and dropping of the facial skin. Especially over the past six months. I have been studying stem cell therapy closely. Would this help my situation?

These signs of aging are both due to aging related to hormonal gland weakness as well as direct cell aging (both are influencing each other).

Depending on the patient’s hormonal status and health we would recommend combining therapy with bioidentical hormones (Bioidentical Hormone Replacement Therapy, BHRT) with application of the patient’s own stem cells from fat tissue. Stem cells can be applied both locally to the affected skin areas using mesotherapy with micro-needles and systemically by infusion.

Breast Augmentation Using a Vacuum Pump?

The vacuum of an appropriate suction cup can lead to considerable breast augmentation. However, the achieved effect is unfortunately of a temporary nature only in most cases. And who wants to run around with a suction cup underneath the blouse all the time ;-)…

If breast augmentation with autologous fat transfer (with stem cells) is performed immediately after treatment with a suction cup over a longer period a larger increase in volume can be achieved because the stretched breast provides more space for the implanted stem cell-enriched autologous fat. Thus pre-treatment of breasts with a proper suction bra is advisable in many cases, especially in case of very tight breast tissue.

Breast Augmentation: How Much More Is “One Cup Size More”?

The cup size is determined by the difference between chest circumference and thorax circumference (measured below the breast, rounded to 5 centimeters). A difference of 13 centimeters stands for cup size A, 15 centimeters for cup size B, 17 centimeters for cup size C, and so on.

Your underbust circumference is for example 75 centimeters. If you now have a chest circumference of 88 centimeters (measured at the widest part) you have cup size A, in case of a chest circumference of 90 centimeters you have cup size B, in case of 92 centimeters C, and in case of 94 centimeters D.

An augmentation of your breast by autologous fat transfer by one cup size corresponds to an increase of the chest circumference of 2 centimeters.

Body Forming: Ideal Figure and Bikini Cleavage Instead of Winter Fat

Finally… Summer is just around the corner!

After dismal winter weather we cannot wait to banish our thick winter jackets into the back of our wardrobe, showing more skin again and indulging in summery pleasure.

But often there is a question arising: What can we do to get rid of winter fat and to make our skin fit for the summer?

Gentle Body Forming

Unwelcome fat pads can get hold of with liposuction with microcannulas or fat-away injection. Problem zones such as saddlebags, double chin or “love handles” around the belly are treated specifically; the body’s silhouette is perfected. All treatments are performed on an outpatient basis and the result can be seen immediately after the treatment.

Patient before and after microcannular liposuction

The after photo shows the result actually achieved by the treatment.

As accompanying measure a medically-supported weight reduction can make sense.

Bikini Cleavage

Fat obtained by liposuction is a natural filler that can be used to augment breasts gently, to correct dents or to treat other volume deficits.

Tight Skin

Skin tightening treatments fight the war against cellulite and orange skin.

Combination treatments with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) obtained from your own blood give new freshness to your skin. Especially in the facial area the so-called vampire lifting is utilized for regeneration.

Autologous fat obtained by liposuction contains valuable stem cells, which can be used for skin regeneration of the face or other body areas.

We all wish you a nice summer! If you want to lend the nature a hand we are glad to answer your phone call on +43 1 532 18 01 (Monday to Thursday, 9 am to 6 pm) or your message.

Oxytocin Reduces Consequences of Alcohol

The so-called “cuddle hormone” oxytocin apparently reduces the negative impact of alcohol on motor skills due to the neutralization of the alcohol-induced increased effect of the messenger substance GABA (which influences motor skills). Oxytocin inhibits the influence of alcohol on certain GABA receptors.

Studies in alcoholics have further shown that oxytocin is able to reduce alcohol consumption and to alleviate consequences of abstaining. This could mean new therapeutic options with bioidentical hormones for alcoholics. We will keep you up to date.

Breast Implant Ruptured: Fat Transfer for Australian Patients

A patient from Australia asks about breast reconstruction/augmentation with autologous fat and stem cells:

I have had implants in before but unfortunately I had no choice but to have them removed due to them being ruptured from a needle biopsy. It has been 2 years since and I still can’t stand to look at them as they are very saggy. I don’t even fit into an A cup bra. Please help. I am very interested to know more about this but I live in Melbourne, Australia. Is there someone here you could put me in contact with?

Quite a few Australian patients have chosen to travel to our clinic in Vienna, Austria to have stem cell breast augmentation performed. We recommend starting with an advance informative appointment by Skype and webcam.

Breast Augmentation: Can Fat Cells Be Multiplied as Stem Cells to Achieve More Volume?

A patient asks about stem cell breast augmentation:

Hi I have 180 ml breast implants, but I want to change it for fat grafting because I hate the way silicone feels. My only problem is I have no fat at all. I think something like 150 ml maximum can be removed with liposuction. But I also know that stem cells can multiply cells into new cells. So would be possible transform 150 ml of fat into 400 ml of fat using stem cells?

Multiplying fat cells in the way she means is not possible nor would its usage be allowed in the EU or USA. Multiplying stem cells is possible but for successful fat transfer she also needs fat cells, not only stem cells. She should mail us photos so we can assess how much fat could be harvested using fine microcannulas. At least 500 cm³ is possible in most thin patients. So probably expanding stem cells will not be necessary in her case at all.

Breast Augmentation: Fat Transfer versus Stem Cell-Enriched Fat Transfer

A patient who is interested in breast augmentation with fat transfer wants to know:

Is there proof that stem cell-enriched fat absorbs any less than normal fat? Why is the procedure more expensive than the “standard” fat augmentation of breasts?

There is ample evidence from those practitioners who offer both procedures, like we do, that stem cell enrichment produces more durable results than plain fat transfer. Higher costs in stem cell isolation cause higher fees in the actual procedure compared to “standard” fat transfer.
