A patient just sent us this question about breast augmentation by e-mail:
What requirements must be met that a health insurance will cover the costs? What experience do you have?
Our answer:
The costs will hardly be covered. Most likely part of the costs might be covered if your breasts are very unequal, underdeveloped, or deformed. Also after implant removal and dimpling of the breast, for example, after tumor or cyst removal, you have a chance. However, for this purpose you must get the approval in advance from the person in charge at your health insurance company.
