New fashion and styling trends develop at a fast pace in our modern world. In contrast, shape and thickness of eyebrows tend not to change that often.
For many decades it was considered particularly feminine for women to pluck their eyebrows and to keep them as thin as possible. Top model Cara Delevingne is now setting new standards with her bushy brows.
When these fine hairs have been plucked out repeatedly over a number of years, eyebrow growth generally becomes thinner. Good make-up very rarely recreates the same effect naturally luxuriant brows have.
Treatment with growth factors from hair follicle cells (hair follicle growth factors, HFGF), prostaglandins, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) from the body’s own blood and autologous stem cells from fat have the potential to stimulate increased hair growth, making eyebrow and scalp hair denser.
Hair treatment with growth factors and prostaglandins
Tissue hormones (growth factors and prostaglandins) are essential for the body’s own continual regeneration of hair and skin. Hair growth therapy involves introducing hair follicle growth factors into the eyebrow area or the head using fine micro needles, where they support hair growth. Prostaglandins are applied directly onto the skin and are absorbed there by the hair follicles.
Patients can carry out their own treatment at home with a derma roller, using instructions given.
Hair treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP)
Hair growth treatment with platelet-rich plasma (PRP) involves harvesting valuable blood platelets from a small amount of blood. This concentrate of thrombocytes, known as “platelet-rich plasma”, is gently injected into the affected areas, where it produces regenerating growth factors and activates the body’s own stem cells.
PRP treatment is carried out on an outpatient basis and, if needed, can be repeated after several months.
Hair treatment with stem cells from the body’s own fat
The stem cells in fat tissue have considerable biological potential for use in hair growth therapy. The stem cells required are obtained from a small amount of fat, gently extracted with microcannulas. Subsequently, the stem cells are directly injected into the scalp and eyebrows. In this way, existing hair is strengthened and the growth of new hairs stimulated at the hairlines.
Depending upon the individual initial condition, the best results can be achieved with a combination of hair follicle growth factors, prostaglandins, platelet-rich plasma (PRP) and stem cells from autologous fat.
